G'day Allan,

Thanks for the information. I suppose that in practice, it would realy
be better to have the bolts securing the winch in place through the
crossmember, rather than just bolted onto the front, for the added
strength. Jeremy is right too, in that the tubes in the 107 chassis that
I saw were welded right through just like the tubes in the rear
crossmember. I have a new Marsland chassis, so if I want to fit my
capstan winch I will have to use the rivnuts method - which I suppose is
correct for a 1957 88" ?

Nice to hear everything is green over with you, I suppose that means
there is less likelyhood of bush fires, or is it still too early in the
season? We are thinking of coming over to Oz again in 2006, the main
intention being to visit the Opening Ceremony of the 18th Commonwealth
Games in Melbourne, and that is because I was one of the volunteers at
the last games in Manchester, and enjoyed the experience so much.
