Centre hinge is not quite the same, the pin needs to be cut off and moved
up about 1 inch, from memory top hinge also differs as I beleive it is
longer although I may be wrong on this. ~ 1 1/4 inch box section can be
used to make up the door closures with a suitable lip for the door seal,
alternative is to cut the rements of the door pillars from a rusty bulkhead
(or modify a repair section) yo will need to source a set of hinge hangers
from somewhere.

The three door hinges are also exactly the same as the drivers door. There
is some slight difference in the body tub door posts compared to the
tailgate. The handle and mechanism is the same apart from the inside which
has a verticle bar to open, running in a short slot on the door top instead
of the normal lift up type. But again this is easy to make.
Cheers.

I have looked into the making of a rear door and as Martin says it is quite
possible and simple with the cutting and welding and re-galvanising of old
door tops. My real input here is to add to Anthony's idea of making a new
Alpine light from Perspex and to point out that actually that would be
correct as they were originally perspex. Also to say that someone ought to
save the top because the tropical tops are quite hard to find, particularly
undamaged if it is.

Remember the bottom half of the rear door is exactly the same as the

drivers door again, without the angle bit against the screen, so a rear dor
is not impossible to fabricate.RegardsMartin

Hi Ian, I rang about the hardtop but regrettably there seems to be no rear
door with it. The guy went to look and disappeared for about 5 mins but
couldn't find it, although it used to have one as it was their own vehicle
at one time. Also if the alpine window is missing this may be a problem, as
I think they're quite a bit longer on the 86" than the modern ones and it's
unlikely they're still available. Although it would be possible to make a
perspex one, I suppose. So I think I'll leave it alone, with it being 90
miles away an' all, but thanks for bringing it to attention. Regards,
Anthony
