<P>Hello Mathew,</P>
<P>I have a 110STW with Td5 engine MY late 2000. Yes, consumption is ca. 9l/100km at countryroads 12l in city. &nbsp;Max speed real 140km/h without and real 160km/h with chip Stage 1 at 255/85 tires. Max. 14l/100km at full speed. Chipped version like a VW Golf(Rabbit) GTD. Noise inside okay until 100km/h. Around 110/115km/h the loudest noise, higher than 120 it´s getting quieter.</P>
<P>Poor aircondition, will freeze your knees, while your head is burning, especially&nbsp;with non white roof.</P>
<P>As I know, there exists now 3 versions of Cyl.heads for the Td5.the latest is the best with no overheating problems. Mine has the first one and has overheating problems, especially when it´s chiptuned. Most problems at the first, third or 5. cyl. After 70 000km I need a new cyl.head because water blows through a little hole &nbsp;into the exhaustchannel at the 5. Cyl.&nbsp;I bought a new head from Turner/UK. </P>
<P>Latest Td5 no problems with the engine. Early engines have more power in the lower rpms, new Td5 has more power inthe higher rpms. New Td5 has updated electronic and drives like the earlier Td5 with chiptuning. But I think the engine is a misconstruction, normally the oil temp.sensor sits at the hotest part of the engine, Td5 has it in the front at the coolest part in the driving wind. And this is only the beginning of the list of the mankos of the Td5. I don´t know, why LandRover&nbsp; builds such a bad quality&nbsp;for years, this is not a good example of finest british workmanship. Lightswitch&nbsp;/ clutch mastercyl, clutch slave cyl./ waterincrease&nbsp;&nbsp;is a problem/dry halfshaft bearings/alarmsystem etc etc. and all the spareparts costs a hell of money.</P>

<DIV></DIV>&gt;I know this isn't a Series One topic, but I was wondering if anyone on the
<DIV></DIV>&gt;list has experience with the Td5 in a 110SW?&nbsp;&nbsp;I'm considering buying one and
<DIV></DIV>&gt;want to know the pro's and con's to the engine.&nbsp;&nbsp;I'm sure someone here has
<DIV></DIV>&gt;an opinion.&nbsp;&nbsp;Things I'm curious about are fuel economy, power, road speed,
<DIV></DIV>&gt;engine noise inside the cab and that sort of thing.&nbsp;&nbsp;Any info would be
<DIV></DIV>&gt;greatly appreciated.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Thanks!
