Thanks for the input Rui, Mark, Paul and Hennie. I'm also curious about the
300tdi. Everything I read and everyone I speak with all speak highly of the
300tdi. We know the Td5 is a lot different from the 300tdi, but what is the
difference between the 200 & 300tdi's? Is it just bore or did they redesign
the pump and increase compression? Any thoughts on the oil burners from
anyone would be great.

And to answer your question, Paul, I'm considering building one or modifying
my Range Rover. Just like Hennie mentioned about his V8 110, my V8 RR is
very thirsty and it is just on the edge of winter temperatures to ride my
R100GS/PD plus you can't get as much gear on a motorcycle as you can a 110
or RR. I'm always hauling gear for work and need the load space. Oh, and
my dog isn't into wearing a helmet so she doesn't ride on the bike with me:)

There are 110s with diesel plants in them here in the States, Paul. I've
seen a few around. I drove an ex-Camel Trophy 110 200TDi in LA a few weeks
ago. Nice truck, but the Mundo Maya was hard on her and to add insult to
injury, she sat in Belize for about 5-6 years not being used a whole lot and
started to rust. The bulkhead was in need of replacement and most of the
doors were on their way out.

I just can't see driving another gas powered modern vehicle. The
consumption of fuel is to great. I'll happily putter around in my 107 and
ignore the fuel economy!
