I have always thought the 50%-70% figures were a bit of a salesmans 
fantasies.

In the 50s and 60s the proportion of production which was military must have 
put a dent in the figures - I'd love to know just what proportion of any given 
army's inventory makes it to the civvy market...

Easy to see where the urban granny originated tho' - a vehicle with a long life 
and 100%-rebuildable philosophy may well have the edge in the perception of 
'recycling', but nowadays it is possibly a poor alternative.

On a related matter, now that modern softops all have power hoods, and 
some have 20+ motors and their associated wiring, LR could use their 
'manual' hood-removing feature to good advantage in their advertising ;-)
