I also agree with the "stick" system, but go about it gently; it worked =
with my original pump that had not been working for ages.

  Brett

It's an SU Fuel pump! Take the bonnet off get a bent stick long =
enough to hit the pump from the drivers seat. When the pump stops, hit =
it with the stick, you'll be alright for miles and miles.

Either that or a service of the pump with new points (and =
transistorise it) or a new replacement pump(transistorised of course).

  Hello list,

S1 86" 2L petrol siamese bore, engine starves during trip a several =
times - fuel pump hangs/wrong adjustment.

Pipes, glas bowl filter, inner pump filter, hose, diaphragm, =
everything is clean and free, problem is definetly the fuel pump. After =
starving engine (fuel transport) I can knock a little bit at the fuel =
pump and then it works for the next 2km.

Gaskets and diaphragm is new, my adjustment unit at the back of the =
fuelcorpus is a little bit different as shown in the workshop manual. =
The rocker has, instaed of the 2 white rollers which knocks against the =
corpus, a metal nose. But that should be not the problem. Problem is the =
clearance - at the ledge side I have the 0,75mm but to the corpus side I =
have 1mm.

I hope, that=B4s the fault of my fuel pump problems. How can I adjust =
the the rocker in midway postion? Screwing the diaphragm a little bit =
more in?

When I press the diaphragm in(as shown in Fig. M17) the rocker moves =
front and backwards. But I think the frequency is the problem?

  Who can help?

  Uli
