Typo error. "there is wear on the points"
As there is only a small amount of current switched at the points
(primary spark) this means more energy goes to the spark plugs
developing a bigger brighter spark there.
Also with less spark at the points there is LESS wear on the points
and they last longer.
I can't report any improvement in performance using this system. but
the emissions smell better (if that sounds right) as if all the fuel
is being burnt. the box also has a switch to turn it back to normal
ignition but more useful is the 3rd option on the switch which
immobilizes the car by turning off the ignition, offering a small
amount of security.
