Re 109"/88" changes
Basically the chassis frame is the same (ie no longer) but the front spring
hangers are positioned 2" futher forward on the chassis as are the rear of
front spring shackle positions. The front propeller shaft is correspondingly
2" longer; the brake pipes are longer; the radiator is 1" further forward so
the fan cowl and radiator hoses are also affected; the front wings are
different - basically the wheel cutout in the outer guard panel is further
forward so that the curve starts closer to the front edge and the back
section between the cutout and the firewall is slightly longer but the
overall dimension of the guard is the same. The bonnet is longer, has
different hinges; 109"/88" vehicles also saw the introduction of
recirculating ball steering box so the horn button is on a bracket off the
side of steering column, not in the wheel centre which has a plain metal
cover;
Some of these production changes will not affect a fitment of the 2.25
engine but better to be aware of them now.
Hope this helps.
Bob
