Norm, I'm assuming your truck is LHD as is mine. Did you need to =
replace your gearbox and transfer case as well, or were you able to mate =
the 2.25 to your existing gearbox. If the former, did the existing =
chassis tranny mounts work?
Thanks a bunch.

Having done it, yes, you can fit a 2-1/4 litre engine into a '57 Ser I =
without modification of the nounts. Remember, the 2-litre diesel, which =
uses essentially the same block as the 2-1/4 litre petrol, was available =
in the late Ser. I's. There is an issue with the lower radiator hose, =
however.

Hi fonts of knowledge post 1953.
Can anyone tell me whether the chassis brackets for the engine =
mounts of a '57 SWB are in the same location relative to the gearbox as =
the chassis brackets of a Series 2 / 2a 2283cc Land Rover.
I guess the same question could also be asked: "can you fit a 2283cc =
Series 2 /2a engine with standard engine mounts straight onto the =
chassis brackets in a '57 SWB without having to alter either the chassis =
brackets or the engine mounts?=20
Cheers
Diana :-)))
P.S. It's not an 80" bit of knowledge so why would I know!!!
