You said the magic word "cheap" or rather you could have used inexpensive.
Land Rover doesn't care that it's products are about 10% to 20% more
expensive than it's EQUIVALENT competitors products.  They haven't cared
about that since the late 1960's and that is the main reason that Australia,
Africa and Asia are now the domain of the Japanese four wheel drive.

If it hadn't been for the UN and other military fleet purchases, Land Rover
wouldn't exit today - they would have gone broke in the 1970's or 1980's.

Just my opinion - having been around during those periods.
