In theory, it is possible to 're-manufacture' a Series One, albeit very costly. You should be able to get hold of most if not all components now, and if you used a later engine and Santana axles, not much else would need to be altered. Remember you can get most body panels, chassis, seats, electrical items, canvas tops etc, and many series 2 and 3 parts could also be used, and most of them are still available

I expect the end result would be classed as a kit car though....

It would be lovely to see the "series" 
re-manufactured. Trouble is they would never pass 
any of today's laws governing new cars. It would 
be interesting to compile a list of what they would and wouldn't pass.
