The other thing to point out is that the 107 SW was the last of the Series
Ones to be built.  They were produced into 1958.  They were still being made
along side the Series 2 models for a short while.  Maybe he is referring to
the "last of the last" instead of the "first of firsts."

1957 107SW w/ parabolic springs and soon to be dual circuit w/ a vacuum
booster that isn't stuffed under the hood but in a secret spot under the
center front seat...don't tell anyone.  I don't want to be flogged on the
list.
