Hi Tom,

I know we seem parsimonious in our comments, but I don't think we've been
unfair. The wording of the ebay auction speaks for itself:

"If you want a cheap landrover to knock around for a bit off-road fun at
weekends this is NOT FOR YOU!

If however you are a genuine enthusiast, and want to own part of the early
history of Land Rover, you will not find a better example available of this
now rare marque. "

The vendor is clearly aiming his auction at genuine land rover enthusiast
and he has found them by the 100s in us!

Besides - look at the starting price! It HAS to be a better vehicle for that
kind of money.

I can't believe he is unaware of the dozens of bodges on this 107. I just
noticed that the rear crossmember is from a later 2/2a/3, the gearshift
stalk is not Land Rover at all. The way the wheels protrude from the wheel
arches suggests that the axles are from the wider 2/2a/3 series.

So is what he says true? "This Series 1 Land Rover 107" Station Wagon is in
sound original condition, both mechanically and chassis wise." Hardly!!!

Had he been more sincere in describing his vehicle I would have been more
forgiving.

And if he and possible buyers lurk amongst us, it is better that we offer
some guidance than have people buy something that is not quite what it
appears to be.

Jeremy
