Stepping back a little:

If there was a problem with Foo::Bar that made it buggy under Windows
(or a problem with Windows that made Foo::Bar buggy :), should users
have to install Foo::Bar::Win32 and then make sure they load it either,
before or after Foo::Bar only after they realize it doesn't work? Or
should Foo::Bar::Win32 be part of the F::B distribution and F::B can
figure out on it's own if it needs it or not?

I tend to favor the latter in almost all situations. And I don't think
it's an argument about frameworks or not. A person using F::B by itself
shouldn't have to worry about the env either.

To me this is what module maintenence is about. Helping it grow as the
technology grows. I agree that you are the maintainer and gatekeeper of
C::D (and Ima::DBI) and I completely respect your decision about what
goes in/out of it.

I also know that you don't have as much time to devote to the project as
you would like (who does). But I would hope that you don't feel that if
a change goes into it that you don't understand you'll be left high and
dry with no resources for maintaining it. We don't mind helping out,
really we don't.
