Dear Contestants

This weeks quiz covers Land Rover Identity Badges.

Ouestion 1 Introduction:
The earliest 80" had cast metal badges with the words Land-Rover the =
holes on either side were at different heights.

Question 1: What was/is the purpose of these differing heights?

Question 2/3 Introduction: The parts manual for the 1948 - 1953 models =
shows both the cast version of the name badge and also a pressed =
aluminium (aluminum for those in the George W sphere of influence (not =
that anyone is out of Dubilya's sphere of influence)).

Question 2: When was the cast version superceeded by the pressed =
version?

Question 3: Were the two types ever fitted to the same vehicle? i.e the =
pressed aluminium on the rear and the cast on the grille.

Question 4 Introduction: I have seen 2 versions of the pressed =
aluminium one with the words Solihul Warwickshire and one with the word =
Birmingham on the right hand side.

Question 4: What are the dates of the 2 wording versions.

Question 5 Introduction: I'm so confused by all these little fiddly =
bits of detail.

Question 5: What are the correct badges for my 1951 80"?

You have 1 week to answer these questions, starting now!

No talking amongst yourselves or you will be required to leave the =
examination hall.

Diana
