    G'Day Diana,
My 1948-1951 parts book lists both the cast and pressed badges.
The addendum for the post 1951 models only lists the pressed type.
My guess is that 1951 models had the pressed type but bear in mind that
there were very many changes during the 1950 model year, lights through
the grill, narrow transom rear body and change to the seat backs at the
same time to name just several of the cosmetic changes.
Another thought just occured to me in that I had an early 1950 that
was a source of parts only as the chassis was completely stuffed. This
vehicle had at some stage had the later type grill fitted (upside down T
mesh) and the rear body was the narrow transom type with the later
pressed badge on it. The front badge was cast as it should have been.
The point being that many of these vehicles "evolved" during their
service life. When replacement parts were required, whatever was at hand
and available at the right price was used, irrespective if it was "right".
The vehicle that I refered to above also had an early Series II F
head 2-litre motor and retained the ring pull transfer box.
    Cheers
    Allan
