In the UK you are allowed to replace the chassis with a new chassis and
that is that, VIN stays the same and there is no requirement to stamp
the chassis, (though some people do) the bulkhead plate is the one that
in theory has to be present for the MOT test.  There is a points system
where if a vehicle has had too many new bits it si deemed to have ceased
to be that vehicle.  What you are not meant to do is to use a chassis
from another vehicle.
