I love the idea of an 80" ute.

The ute holds a place as an "icon" in Aussie culture - you know the type of
comment "real men drive a ute" particularly with the country blokes.

Like Arizona our sun does enormous damage and I have that fair Anglo-Irish
skin that burns when I start thinking of going outside.

So I am seriously thinking of restoring and using the cab roof as it is on
Gunner.  With a little engineering modification it will also give me a place
to mount a 3 point seatbelt harness.

I know a pickup top doesn't really fit and I know they make the cabin
even smaller -- but I really like the way they look on an 80".  I will
probably compromise and fit a canvas tick over the cabin.  That's my
second choice.  Here in Arizona, where we also get temps of 40C+,
driving around with nothing over your head doesn't make sense.
