When I finally found a canvas top, there were no sticks available.  A  
trip to the DIY resulted in several lengths of 3/4 inch galvanized  
conduit tube and a bender.  Sketch the outline you want on a piece of  
paper or garage floor and go for it.  Not too pricey and mine have held  
up fine.  To connect cross pieces, squeeze flat in a vise at the  
intersection, drill a 1/4 " hole and a couple of bolts and wingnuts  
holds it together.
