There are, unfortunately, lots of differences:
The mounts should swap across, but there are loads of other problems:
The gearbox bellhousing is wrong - you need the one from a Series II.
The clutch could be a problem, both in terms of slave cylinder (I 
actually swapped to a pendent pedal and SIII clutch system) and clutch plate
The air inlet will now be on the right-hand side, and the carb will be 
different - so you'll need to bodge up an air-hose to the filter
The coolant hoses are also different: the top-hose is OK, but the 
bottom-hose comes in from the left on a 2.25.
Likewise, the cabin-heater pipes are different: the feed is from above 
the thermostat, and the return is above valve 8.

The starter is also different - a two-bolt instead of the three-bolt unit.
Likewise, the whole exhaust system will need to be bodged to mate up.

Having said that - it's all possible to make it fit, it's a land rover!
