SER1 best place to breakdown!

Hi folks,
Had an interesting breakdown this evening in my transit powered '54 
107",  a complete loss of drive after changing down for a junction. Rather 
ironically, it was right outside Droitwich Land Rover main dealers in 
Worcestershire. Was a bit worrying as I blocking a busy junction and 
causing a mild amount of chaos... Tried the obvious solution of popping it 
in 4wd assuming a halfshaft had gone, but to no avail. Moments later a nice 
couple in an ex army 110, arrived and towed me to a layby, the other side 
of the junction, where I could phone for a recovery service.
After an interesting discussion with the recovery chap, who wanted to take 
me to 'The Green Business Centre, Staines, Middlesex' rather than 'The 
Green Business Centre, Stanford Bridge, Worcestershire' which was where I 
was going (Aren't computers wonderful!) we loaded it on for the half hour 
journey up the road.

Still not sure what's broken. It gave a little hint of drive very briefly 
as I tried various gears, before all motion ceased, but there was no 
horrendous gear stripping sounds. Any ideas anyone? I'm assuming gearbox 
rather than clutch, but not sure at all. I imagine next weekend to have an 
oily tinge to it...
