Diana,

I meant the plates on the rockercover and enginenumberplates and =
enginenumbers in general.
The waterjacketplates can't be exchanced with coreplugs (or Welshplugs).

Tinkerbell has offten that kind of loads behind her, it's her work.
I have a Mobile Repair Service for Land Rover's in the Netherlands.
When something can't be repaired on location it has to be recovered to =
the garage.
So every once and a while...
But she's prepared for it, with a 2,5 TD with Intercooler, a militairy =
chassis, TIC parabolics, Wolf rimms with 255x85x16 BGF M/T's, Fairy =
Overdrive, Fairy Capestan and a whole lot of tools she can handel the =
job.

Regards,

Aad Koene

  Aad

When you talk about popping up the plate, Are you talking about the =
side rocker cover or the plates into the water jacket on the block?

The Series 1's after 1949 all had round core plugs (that I know as =
welsh plugs) in the RHS of the block under the manifold. However the =
1948 engines had 2 large oval plates which were screwed into the block =
with a gasket. It is these oval plates that I know as the "side =
plates".

  Regards
  Diana

PS That is a bit of a load you have behind Tinkerbell in the pic
