I have only come across a small number of Series 1s in Northern Ireland
and most of those are only used recreationally, being driven to a few
vintage shows each year. I only know of one 86" that still works for
its keep. Even other Series vehicles are becoming a less common sight
on the roads. In Southern Ireland Land Rovers were never hugely
popular: like your part of the world, Toyotas were very popular although
I am told that County Cork was somewhat of a Landrover stronghold.

Thanks all for your kind words.... Its great to get greetings from
around
the globe!

Lyndon, you also live in a beautiful part of the world. I was in Ireland
last May-June but didn't make it to the north. Hopefully next time...

BTW I didn't see too many old Land Rovers in Ireland (no series ones at
least) but of course saw many when I got to England in June. I am basing
my
rebuild (colour choice etc) largely on one little rover that really
inspired
me; Keith Wadsworth's supurb little light blue series one.

Cheers
