As long as Keith has used 2 of the following 5 items his vehicle is =
classified by the DVLA as original: Engine, transmission, axles (both), =
Steering, suspension (front and back). The chassis can either be the =
original or an exact copy of an original made to the same standard as =
the original.=20
I wonder how many vehicles out there have had, over the course of 50ish =
years, more than 3 of these items replaced due to being wore out, etc =
etc, and in which case we are driving vehicles that in theory and =
according to the DVLA should be Q plated!! I would guess that the 2 =
items least likely to be replaced are the axles and the gearbox.
This information can be found by visiting the DVLA's web site =

This is a bit of a hot potatoe in the UK magazines (after a write up =
on 860002)
I would have to go for a replica!!! I wonder what chassis number/reg =
he used ???
Still a noble cause, the more vehicles on the road the better in my =
books!!

If Keith Wadsworth built an entire car apart from its transmission. =
Is it a
restoration or a replica?
Just wondering?
I have some Wadsworth panels myself.

Hi Martin,
..and welcome to the list. I! ts funny you should mention Keith =
Wadsworth, (
www.wadsworthpanels.co.uk ) as I was only talking about Keith and =
his Series
One in a pub this afternoon! We were discussing the fact that he =
built the
whole thing himself, panels, chassis, bulkhead etc - apart from =
transmission
and engine of course. I take it you went to visit his workshop? I =
only live
a few miles away on the other side of the valley. Another 'famous' =
Land
Rover restorer you may have heard of - Ken Wheelright lives in this =
area as
well...its a pity its just me letting the side down with the quality =
of
restorations!
Cheers
