Victoria has some quite nice mountain areas - even ones with snow on the
top. In fact the Victorian Alpine regions are one of the most popular
regions in the country for 4 x 4 touring. The modern coiler Land Rovers
have difficulty negotiating parts of it - even those with front and rear
diff lockers etc. I thought that 55MPH corresponded to about 93Km/H - his
fuel consumption at 28M/Gal was in Imperial Gallons which are larger than US
gallons (but you prob. know that) and was without the trailer. Yes it is a
soft top, but probably top on and the driver is a very fuel efficient
driver, so may get the car over the 60MPH but only on a long down hill run
on a freeway.

The Fairy overdrive has major oil and overheating problems - I have even
heard of people making all sorts of modifications to keep the oil cooled and
supplied. Like gravity feed pipework from the transfer box. By all reports
the Rocky Mountain is a far superior unit.
