Tom

On my 52 the transmission tunnel is to close to the drivers side of the gearbox for the overdrive levers to fit. The 80 is a run about that I bought last year, whilst I renovate my 48 and 49. I guess that someone has got things will out of alignment on a previous renovation (I have got a temparary fix for now.)
With 7.50 bar grips (ex military 80 inch) the original 2 litre engine does struggle a bit (but will do will over 60mph with a long enough run up!!!)
The ngine really does sound a lot happier now at A road speeds.

P.S I have not run an overdrive before, are they always noisy under no load.

  Thanks
  paul

Shouldn't need any adjustment. although the connecting rod sometimes has two holes at the lever position one for a 6cly engine and the shorter for the 4cly. Is the "L" shaped bracket mounted in the right place?

  Hi
Ok so the levers for my fairey overdrive will not fit as the manual describes. before I re-invent the wheel, am I being silly or do the levers need modifying/ fitting differently on a 1952 80 inch.
i am sure that someone has solved this problem before, and its a bit cold out there to be fiddling about all day. (2deg c brrrrrr)

thanks
Paul
