G'Day Rob

We pay more in shipping from the U.K. like Dunsfords and Wadsworth than you
do and our dollar has a lower exchange rate. Much of the stuff I have
purchased for Bemboka from eBay and a pair of wing outer panels from Keith
Wadsworth had to come from the U.K. So we all know about the shipping
cost.

You would be surprised that the Victorian Register people recently sent an
original fuel tank to the U.S. East coast for the postage cost, because a
project there was going the no reproduction route. The process needs to be
multidirectional with swaps going every where back and forth, but firstly we
need our list members to keep their eyes peeled and ears to the ground about
where the series 1 vehicles are available. If the particular list member
has no use for it then let the list know and someone else can pick it up.
Just like this most recent clearing sale, had not Mark Kinnear posted on the
list, I would not have known about the sale, the vehicle would have been
sold for $5.00 and gone for scrap.

What would the list think about one of our computer whiz kids setting up a
database of donor parts available that members could tap into for the
missing item? We would have to have some security measures so that people
don't get the part for a minimal cost then on-sell it through eBay etc. I
would definitely be interested in being involved. Any other ideas?

By the way, Thank You Mark Kinnear for your original post!

Regards
Diana

That sounds like a great service for you blokes Down Under.

Postage/shipping to the States would still put the bigger stuff high on
the $$$ scale for us, but for little stuff you might find world wide
interest.
