Seeing the pics, and assuming they include some of the new conquests, you
had a really good day out. Miss not having been there.

Allan, Jeremy and Ulrico

Yes I did go to the clearing sale and about 500 people there.

Tons and tons of ancient sheep and grain machinery, most of it would require
a lot of work to restore. Some of it would be 100 years old or more. I did
see the chaff cutter but it wasn't high on my agenda. I nearly bought a PTO
driven boom spray, the tank and cradle would sit nicely in the tub and the
booms would have opened behind the body with the pump sitting on the rear
PTO spline.

Yes Allan's information was correct it is a 1611xxxx a 1950 instead of an
086xxxx a 1948 as advertised, I didn't get Allan's post till I got back
however. I was quite surprised that the Auctioneer already knew the
mistaken year, now we find out the reason. Thanks Allan! Unfortunately
another enthusiast was looking for 1948 parts so it was a wasted 700Km round
tip for him.

The vehicle has been sitting for years, heaps of mulch in the tub, steering
wheel well worn down to the wire, tyres dead and someone has removed one of
the swivel balls and housing so it is a Land Rover tricycle. Was that you
Ulrico? Worst of all was a very common modification someone had
transplanted a grey 6 cylinder Holden FC motor. Ironically both cars are
abandoned next to each other. Even though there is virtually no paint on
any panel there is not a lot of rust, just surface rust which will come off
with a bead blast.

What is the result, you ask?

Yes I am now the owner of a 1950 80", vehicle, the price $AU100.00 + GST
(thats $US77.00 or ŁGB41.00) My plans are that it will probably be merged
with my 1950 rolling chassis which has a significant history but missing
lots of bits. But this will all have to wait for me to finish the 1951
which I have now called "Bemboka "because of where she was found. I have
posted the 1950 on the Garage.
