I'm another Weber fan!
My S1 in everyday use runs far more sweetly in every respect on a Weber than
it ever did on the original (but reconditioned) Solex, and I wouldn't
consider changing back..
As someone else has said, Stafford Dovey can I'm sure sell you a used Solex,
but if you ask him I'm equally sure he'll recommend a Weber!   He has these
on his own vehicles.
