Main reason for this (IMHO) on the 2.25 is that the Weber is a 34 while the
Zenith is a 36 - so you get better power with the Zenith (but it uses more
fuel). But the Zenith can suffer from irregular idling (I experience this
despite 2 rebuilds!!!!).

There are some here in ZA who feel that the Weber 36DCD is the one to go for
(on a 2.25). Apparently if gives awesome power (don't know about the fuel
consumption, but it'll probably go up as; more power available = more power
used = more fuel used). I've been told that if you fit it to a 2.25 you
have to ensure that the float chamber is orientated correctly (can't
remember if it's towards the front or the back), otherwise you suffer fuel
starvation at extreme angles - up very steep hills if I remember correctly
(suggests that float chamber should be towards the front of the vehicle).
