Wonderful - it makes perfect sense - I will try it - I knew that all
knowledge exists on this list.

The British engineer always had a quirky way of doing things and why should
Lucas have been different. - The Japanese and Americans would have put in
another set of terminals, but the Brit's use their heads, cheat a little bit
and use the wiring they already have.

In fact if the trafficator bulb was blown it the lack of light on the dash
would also indicate the blown bulb, but the one on the wrong side. Is that
A about T or something?

Diana,

Just to go back to your original question. The bulb can be wired between the
left and right side indicator lights. Then when one side is selected by the
switch the bulb "earths" through the other side and as it is of much higher
resistance than the two 21w indicator bulbs it flashes but they do not
light. I think with your switch description this is indicators connected to
2 and 5 and flasher unit connected to 3 and 4. Other combinations will be
possible too.

Nick.
