Seeing that we're all getting these postings twice at the moment and your in
original and authentic mode, I thought I would like to post another
question.

In my own vehicle I'm not sure if the grill is original or modified. The
photo below was the engine bay before it was taken apart (sorry about the
poor quality photo).

If you look to the left of the radiator just behind the main panel you can
see (or not see) that the horizontal panel between the radiator and the
vertical front panel finishes at the alignment of the radiator. On other
vehicles the horizontal panel continues and then angles to the front corner
near the mudguard (fender/wing). There doesn't seem to be any evidence of
the panel ever having been spot welded to the vertical panel above the light
bucket so I am not sure it has been shortened/removed.

What is the truth of the horizontal panel in a 1951 production vehicle at
166617XX (161096XX rear axle number)? Were they ever designed to allow easy
removal of the battery or something?

Hi Diana,

I was loking again at the photos of John Wearing's superb 107 in the Garage
- as good is this restoration is, its still not 100 point vehicle.

So .... nice try, but still not perfect.
