Hi Diana,

I was loking again at the photos of John Wearing's superb 107 in the Garage 
- as good is this restoration is, its still not 100 point vehicle.

Missing are the door check straps in this photo:

The check strap looks like this:

You can see that the trim panel has a cut-away for the check strap. an easy 
fix.

A bizarre pair are windscreen washer nozzles - not a Land Rover option in 
those days. You can see the rubber hoses attached to the inside of the 
bonnet and the rear of the hand operated pump in this photo:

But there is another more glaring error in this 107 - the bulklhead is 
incorrect for 1954. If you look again at the photo below, notice the 
'rounded' corner in the bulkhead/footwell gusset  to the right of the 
distributor.

It was not until 1956 that Land Rover began installing these larger 
reinforcing gussets to reduce warping or bending of the firewall. The 
correct firewall looks like this (on a 1954 CKD in OZ):

Notice the gusset is a small triangular piece rather than the larger metal 
stamping on John Wearring's 107. Adding the missing  check straps is easy - 
swapping the firewall not so.

So .... nice try, but still not perfect.
