Hi Mark,

I guess it depends on the design of the oil temp sender. Which is why I was
asking about the 2.25L oil pan fitting a 2L.

On the S2 landies the oil temp gauge has a sender that looks to be the same
in shape and design as the water temp gauge. It is mounted in the bottom of
the oil pan, next to the drain plug in a theaded flange. So - to answer your
question - yes you can use the oil temp gauge without the oil cooler as long
as you have a way to make the threaded flange in the oil pan. Seems to me
you could even use a water temp gauge as an oil temp gauge - just change the
markings on the face of the dial so as not to confuse yourself!

Jeremy

an oil cooler? And can a rev counter be attached to a late 2l engine?
