Tony,

I've made a few general observations about 4WDer's or at least some
them, both retail shop/ mechanical service types and owner/ club drivers.

(Industry types)

The ones to avoid usually wear peaked caps with some thing like
a tyre company badge on it, over weight....BMI of 35 +...., drink
beer....lots
of it.....adorn their vehicles with stickers of more manufacturers as a
badge
of honour....have every possible useless accessory fitted......big tyres and
rims a must....wear jeans with the BMI problem very evident as the jeans
waist
line is obscured by mass......as a right of passage you must be able to talk
the
lingo.....like I've been here and there....and deffinatly done that....self
proclaimed expert in all aspects of 4WDing and mechanical know how....
its amazing how something appears in a magazine with a big wrap and 4-6
months
later its mandatory fittment to the vehicle..... a must have accessory is a
GPS/ road
map....I believe its called "situational awareness" now......

I must have it wrong as I try to reduce mass and increase function yet
industry
says the opposite.....I'll never understand.....

As I get older I'm becoming more of a Ludite, maybe it old timers
disease......at 41

Cheers
Bruce
