Yes and Yes

You need to get an appropriate adapter or "T" piece fitting matched to the
sender of the oil temp gauge you use and the current oil pressure switch.
See your Auto parts retailer.

Yes - if you have a points distributor any traditional rev counter will
work, you can also use optical sensor types with an interrupter on the crank
(same as used on late model diesels), there are mechanical drives that take
a their output from a fitting on the Lucas dynamo the same as used on early
diesels and tractors, or you can have one that takes a tap from an
alternator.  Consult an auto electrician.

Can an oil temp gauge be fitted to a late 2l engine without haveing to use
an oil cooler? And can a rev counter be attached to a late 2l engine?
