Sounds like a suspect electrical supply to the fuel pump. Try cleaning and
tightening the ring terminal at the pump.

  Subject: SER1 fuel problem?

  Hi list,

I try to explain in my perfect technical english

today I did my first short trip ( 5km each) with the old shakin sailor to
the next village for shopping. Everything works fine. On my way back I
stumbled over a railway crossing. After that the engine wants to starve. I
stopped beside for 5minutes with running engine and tried a few times to
keep on driving. But every time when I want to continue the way back , the
engine begin to starve. I opened the bonnet, sparkplugs okay, accelerator
rods okay! After 5minutes with still running engine I try again to shift
into the first gear and try to roll on again and then everything works fine
until home.

But what happened? Dirt in the carburetter (btw: mixture is too fat,
exhaust pipe end is coaly black and spark plugs also)? Problem in the fuel
pump?(fuel pump is clean, with new diaphragma)

Any ideas where I must regulate something?

It´s an early 2 l petrol(siamese bore) fitted with a Weber Carburetter TCI
34 and Lucas 25D ignition

  Thanks

  Uli
