Hi folks,

the hornbutton is to order here: http://www.technical-store.de/katalog18.html

it´s a shop in Berlin, Germany.

Article is at page 18, 3. row, right. description: Hubknopf(Hornbutton) 50mm

article nr.: 3112 mit Chromring (with Chromering) for 13,05 Euros ( plus PP)

I havent paypal and can give You only my bank details. But I know from a former order ( leatherstraps) that it costs a hell of money for the bank fees.

So I think it´s better for You, to order direct at the shop and pay direct at the shop, maybe with credit card details.

The second hornbutton, part nr. 3113 is a waterproofed thing, but it doesn´t fit. I ordered it first, but no chance to get it in the center steering hole. And it is totally made from cheap soft plastic and doesn´t look well.

So take the one with the chromering. If you don´t like the chromering, spray it black!

For fixing the hornbutton into the center hole of steering wheel, some minor modification ( I did it with an electric Minitool like the "Dremel" in the steering wheel hole are necessary.

The hornbutton has a metal clamp outside (for the negative earth connection). For this metal clamp you have to drill or ream a small slot into the sidewall of the steering wheel center hole. And at the rear side of the hornbutton You have to cut away two or three plastic parts, so that the hornbutton fits into the steering wheel hole. It is not complicate and self declaring when you have the hornbutton in your hands and try to dip it into the steering wheel hole. It´s easy to do.

The next thing is, You must solder a wire 2" from this metal side clamp for earth until the middle contact on the rearside of the hornbutton, because there is no electrical connection for earth in the sidewalls of the bakelite steering wheel center hole. The middle screw terminal is for plus, the metal side clamp normally is the earth connection to the metal frame of a" normal "steering wheel .

As I said, it easy and normally self declaring and understanding if you have the piece in your hand and try to dip it into the hole.

Try to order at your own, hope you will have no complication with the terms of paying.

If You need some help for translation etc. send me a mail, I will help You or phone with the shop. Have also a look at the other sides (Seiten), maybe for the rearlights or lightswitches or wipermotors or only the rubberprofiles for doors etc.

This is my favourite shop, where I buy a lot of things during the restauration of my S1, and they have good prices. If you need some help, feel free to ask me.
