Hey folks!
=20
I guess some might call me a heretic because I have no problem with =
people updating the mechanicals of old LRs!! Before anyone blows a =
gasket I have to say it is great to see S1s in totally original =
condition but not everyone has access to the parts or finances needed to =
carry out a full on restoration: pairs of pork pie lamps are changing =
hands for around =A3130 in the UK at present! I'm always glad to hear =
about folk keeping their series LRs on and off the road and enjoying =
them. Like all old vehicles, some people 'Rod' them, some people go =
factory spec.
People have always modified their 4x4s (LR or otherwise) to make them =
easier to live with or to do a specific task: my own 80" had a =
compressor in the back of it! It would be nice to see some of these =
'period' conversions preserved: whatever the engines or drive train they =
run, they are part of the LR legend.
