Which is exactly Andy's argument for not setting barriers on the CPAN and
I ended up agreeing with him.

Maybe they're not now ? Maybe knowledge of the CPAN has leaked out to the
former NMS using fraternity who've been told about the CPAN as *the* place
to get all this prewritten code ? Maybe the contributing community part
has been lost ?

Because there's an RT queue to report bugs in for every module that's
uploaded ?

Perhaps PAUSE should allow an author to tag their uploads as "supported"
or "unsupported" or somesuch and NOT create an RT queue for those who
feel it's not relevant for them.

I'm starting to think that lowering the barrier to reporting bugs is as
bad as raising the barrier to contributing code !

Who reads that ? It seems to me that almost everyone uses search.cpan.org.
Certainly once you find it you very rarely need to look at www.cpan.org.
